Paulo Barreiros

Born in 1971 in Mozambique, but since 2008, a full-time resident of Brazil, Paulo is one of the most highly qualified naturalists guiding in Brazil today. With a degree in zoology and a professional degree in tourism, both from Portugal, Paulo has 15 years of experience throughout Europe in surveying a diverse range of birds, leading nature tours, and designing and executing environmental education projects. Since 2008, Paulo has guided bird and mammal focused tours in the northern Pantanal, Chapada dos GuimarÆes, the Brazilian Amazon and in many parts of the Atlantic Forest on the south-east coast of Brazil. Since early 2014, Paulo has visited Ja£ National Park many times as the lead scientist preparing the specific locations that will be visited by the new Naturetrek Amazon Cruise. Paulo is polite, calm, thoughtful and immensely knowledgeable, making him a firm favourite with our guests.
