Mark Hanger

Mark graduated in Botany from Otago University and is one of New Zealand's leading natural history guides. During his 7-year employment by the NZ National Parks and Reserves Service in southern New Zealand, he founded one of the country's first specialist nature tour companies. In 1988, he and his wife, Marina, established Nature Quest New Zealand, specialising in nature, ornithological and botanical tours. Mark has a wide and in-depth knowledge of his country's natural history, his interest in, and love of, people guaranteeing tours that are both enjoyable and educational. A veteran of over 150 nature tours in New Zealand, Mark's guiding philosophy is to foster a better understanding and appreciation of New Zealand's natural heritage.
