After arriving in Ecuador in 2004, Iris was immediately captivated by the country's immense biodiversity and colourful birdlife. She quickly decided to stay in Ecuador in order to study and work in nature tourism instead of going back to her university studies in Germany. Iris has been guiding groups since 2007, firstly through the northwestern cloudforests and now throughout the country. She holds a degree in Tourism Management and has over 15 years of bird guiding experience. Iris is generous in sharing her knowledge and passion and always gets excited when she finds a new bird for her groups!
