Tony Williams

Tony is an English ornithologist resident in France who, for many years has been one of Naturetrek's most regular and popular tour leaders. Graduating in Applied Zoology, Tony's love of travel, birds and natural history developed as he worked as a research assistant for several years, first in the Carmargue in France and then in the Banc d'Arguin National Park in Mauritania. He also spent a year as assistant warden on Fair Isle, before returning to France in 1982 to become warden of La Brenne. He has been there ever since, settling in the area with his French wife, Michelle, and two young sons, but still travelling widely. Tony, an immensely popular leader, has enormous experience throughout both Europe and Africa, and has led numerous tours in these areas, as well as to such far-flung regions as Iceland, Alaska, Nepal and Aldabra.
