TL Tony Williams

Tony is a British ornithologist resident in France who, for many years, has been one of Naturetrek's most regular tour leaders. Graduating in Applied Zoology from Bangor University, Tony's love of travel, birds, natural history and conservation developed as he worked as a research assistant for several years, first in the Carmargue in France and then in the Banc d'Arguin National Park in west Africa. He also spent a year as Assistant Warden on Fair Isle, before returning to France in 1982 to become a Reserve Manager of La Brenne. He has lived there ever since, settling in the area with his French wife, Michelle, and family, but still travelling widely. Tony has enormous experience throughout both Europe and Africa, and has led numerous tours in these areas, as well as to such far-flung regions as Iceland, Alaska, Nepal, Madagascar and Aldabra.
