We are delighted to be able to offer a new Papua New Guinea group tour that includes the highland interior as well as New Britain Island.

If you’ve always wanted to visit Papua New Guinea, but are not an avid birder then our new tour itinerary offers birdwatching combined with the opportunity to look for a variety of other wildlife too. Encompassing the montane forest habitat, there will be walks in search of several bird-of-paradise species and other birdlife, including King of Saxony Bird-of-paradise, Loria’s Satinbird, Yellow-browed Melidectes and MacGregor’s Bowerbird, as well as orchids, amphibians, butterflies and moths.

The second part of the tour takes us to New Britain Island. Our accommodation is set right by the beach and daily excursions will be a mixture of walks and boat trips, including the option to take in the colourful reef-life found in the bay on a snorkelling session or two. The offshore islands provide shelter for nesting birds, including Nicobar Pigeon and Yellow-bibbed Fruit Dove, while out to sea we will find some pelagic species such as Wedge-tailed Shearwater, Brown Booby, Red or White-tailed Tropicbirds, and hopefully some Spinner Dolphins or other cetaceans.
