Egypt, at the junction between Eurasia and Africa, offers a fascinating combination of birding, history and culture. Its varied landscapes encompass wetlands, fertile agricultural areas and desert, providing opportunities to encounter a rich diversity of birdlife. Our February departures coincide with the latter part of the winter period, when Egypt can hold a good selection of winter visitors alongside its resident species, while the November departures offer the chance to see the first wintering birds arriving alongside Egypt’s resident and passage species. The tour also takes in some of the country’s most spectacular ancient monuments, from the Great Pyramids and Sphinx at Giza to the temples of Luxor, Karnak and Abu Simbel, as well as the Valley of the Kings.

Below we present a small selection of photographs taken on our Egypt – Birds & History tour, showcasing some of the wonderful birdlife, landscapes and historical sites encountered during the journey.
