At the crossroads of Europe and Asia, Georgia offers a remarkably rich and varied birding destination within a relatively compact area of the Western Palearctic. From lush river valleys and wooded foothills to the high alpine zones of the Greater Caucasus, the country encompasses an impressive range of habitats in close proximity. The spring influx provides an excellent opportunity to observe an impressive array of birdlife, as migrants funnel through this key corridor between the Black and Caspian Seas, alongside a rich assemblage of resident and regional specialities, making Georgia a focal point for both diversity and spectacle.

Below we present a small selection of the photographs taken by tour leader Chris Griffin on our Georgia in Spring tour in May 2026. To view the images larger, please click on the crosshairs in the centre of each image.
