James Warren – Operations Assistant
Life Before Naturetrek
One of James’ earliest travel adventures, aged 7, was going on a tour around the Golden Triangle in India; and from the moment a Tiger walked past his jeep in Ranthambore, he was hooked! He has since enjoyed wildlife-focussed travels all over the world with his family, finding Cassowary in Australia's Daintree, chameleons in Uganda's Rwenzori Mountains and Spider Monkeys in Mexico's Yucatan peninsula. More recently, his own travels have included canoeing and camping the Yukon (Canada) enjoying sightings of Grizzly Bear and Grey Wolf on the riverbanks, plus exploring the walking trails and birds of Sikkim (India).
James graduated from Swansea University in 2025 with an MSc in Global Biodiversity and Conservation, having previously completed his BSc in Biology there. During his time at Swansea, he spent much of his free time exploring The Gower, walking its coastlines looking for seabirds and Red-billed Chough, walking the full 50 miles in a day!
Outside of work, James is a keen wildlife photographer, specialising in birds. He is also an enthusiastic scuba diver, having explored underwater habitats both in the UK, diving with Grey Seals and European Sturgeon, and further afield in the Red Sea and off the coast of Mexico.
