Lauren Peach
While many children grew up watching cartoons, Lauren’s television of choice was always Animal Planet. This early fascination with the natural world led her to study Zoology at Newcastle University, after which she joined the Naturetrek office team in 2016 as a Reservations Intern. Enjoying the role so much, she stayed on for a second year, moving into the Operations department.
In 2018, Lauren left Naturetrek to complete an MSc in Marine Environmental Management. She subsequently worked in the marine environmental consultancy sector and spent time at sea as a guest speaker on cruise ships, representing a well‑known whale and dolphin conservation charity. For the last four years, she has worked full‑time as a guide and marine scientist on expedition cruise vessels, spending much of her time in the polar regions, where she relishes sharing her knowledge of the oceans and, in particular, her favourite subject – marine mammals.
Alongside her marine work, Lauren has a keen interest in birds and enjoys spending as much time as possible outdoors and immersed in nature. She began leading tours for Naturetrek in 2025 and is enthusiastic about sharing her passion for wildlife and wild places wherever her travels take her.
