We are excited to bring you a newly improved Poland in Winter itinerary for 2020 that takes in both the Bialowieza Forest and the Biebrza Marshes.

During the winter months, eastern Poland is often covered with a blanket of snow, creating a winter wonderland. Larger animals frequently leave clear tracks and we will particularly be looking to locate European Bison, deer, Pine Marten and Wild Boar in the areas around, and within, the Bialowieza Forest. If we are very fortunate a wolf or lynx may also be seen! A good selection of birds remain around the forests and we hope to find Black, Great Spotted, Middle Spotted, White-backed and Three-toed Woodpecker, White-tailed Eagle, Crested Tit, Fieldfare and Hawfinch.

In the Biebrza Marshes we will be particularly watching out for European Elk, Eurasian Otter and Beaver around the frozen marshes and lakes, as well as Rough-legged Buzzard, Common Goldeneye and Goosander. We will also look for tracks and signs of the local wolf pack.
