George Berthon

After gaining an MSc in Conservation Ecology, George set off to the continent of Africa to pursue his conservation goals where, a year later, he graduated from a year-long Safari Guiding course which deepened his overall ability to 'read the environment'; from tracking and understanding animal behaviour, to recognising bird alarm calls to aid in tracking predators. These skills enabled him to begin an exciting career in wildlife guiding and, subsequently, he has worked in multiple countries in southern Africa, including managing a conservation project in Botswana's Tuli Bloc Reserve.
Having developed a keen interest in birding, he has moved to the south of France and often ventures out into the local nature hotspots of the Camargue and the Cévennes mountains, continually adding to his experience and knowledge!
