Naturetrek's Award-winning Spree!

We are delighted to have won multiple awards over the last few weeks!

International Centre for Responsible Tourism Global (Silver Award)

Following our success winning the top Gold Award in the Nature Positive category at the ICRT Europe Responsible Tourism Awards in Brussels last month, we were automatically entered as finalists into the ICRT Global Awards. Emeritus Professor Harold Goodwin, chair of the judging panel and founder of ICRT global said: “Responsible tourism is about making better places for people to live in and visit. As is clear from the 2022 Responsible Tourism Charter there is a wide variety of ways that businesses and destination managers can take responsibility. It is critically important that organisations support any statement of impact with facts. Our sector is still plagued with extravagant claims, we hope that national and EU mis-selling regulations will reduce this over time. All of the Global Responsible Tourism Award winners have explained how they decided what to take responsibility for, what they did and with what impact. Congratulations to them all and we hope they will inspire other organisations to follow in their footsteps.” Operations Manager, Tom Mabbett, attended the conference and awards ceremony in London, where we were delighted to win a Silver Award. The judges felt that Naturetrek "stood out on a global basis because of its long term investment to support conservation and biodiversity." You can read all about the awards, and the Global award winners, here.

Thames Valley SME Growth Award (over £15 million – Winner)

This month we also attended the Thames Valley SME Growth Awards where we were the winner of the 'Over £15 Million' (turnover) Growth Award. This award celebrates businesses with turnover in excess of £15 million that have exhibited exceptional growth and strategic development. Honouring those that thrive amid challenges, it recognises organisations driving economic impact, fostering employment, and exemplifying the entrepreneurial spirit essential for sustained success. The judges said: "Naturetrek embodies the essence of entrepreneurial enterprise. With a strong and growing team united by shared values and a commitment to excellence, they’ve continued to invest locally and build lasting relationships with a loyal customer base. During the pandemic, they pivoted their offering online to retain – and even grow – their customer base. Since then, they’ve shown exceptional growth both during the qualifying period and into the current year, driven by a deep passion for their sector and a focus on delivering tailored experiences. Now approaching their 40th year, they remain committed to sustainable success and their strategic vision and unwavering spirit is a shining example to all of us in the region. Ranked first on the Growth Index this year, congratulations to Naturetrek."

Country & Town House Future Icons 2026 (Best Travel Conservation, Environmental or Biodiversity Initiative – Highly Commended)

These awards, established in 2025, "honour the visionary innovators whose commitment to sustainability, discernment, quality, and environmental stewardship sets a new standard for responsibility and excellence". Our long-term project, using our profits to create the Naturetrek reserves in Ecuador, Italy and Scotland, protecting biodiversity and restoring important habitats, earned us 'Highly Commended'  in the Best Travel Conservation, Environmental or Biodiversity Initiative category!

Hampshire Business Awards 2026 (SME of the Year – Finalist)

Finally, for the first time this year, we were shortlisted as finalists in the Hampshire Business Awards for 'SME of the Year'. This category celebrates outstanding SME businesses in Hampshire, with the judges looking for companies that demonstrate growth, strategic success, innovation, leadership excellence, contributions to the local community and sustainability, commitment to staff well-being and a thriving workplace culture. Although we didn't win come away as the overall winner, we were honoured to be shortlisted, and thoroughly enjoyed celebrating our successes from the last year at the awards dinner!
