Tom Pinfold – Operations Consultant

Having started life at Naturetrek in the Reservations and Customer Support team, Tom now works in the role of Operations Consultant supporting Managing Director, Andy Tucker, with his tours. Speaking fluent French and Spanish, Tom uses his language skills on a daily basis to communicate with ground agents and tour leaders across his team’s widespread portfolio of European, Central and South American tours. As well as assisting with logistics, Tom handles incoming customer enquiries ensuring that clients have all the information they need before making a booking or before setting off with one of our groups. Simply put, Tom’s job is to ensure the smooth running of his team’s tours, to provide clients with unique and unforgettable experiences.

Life Before Naturetrek

Growing up in a family of travel enthusiasts, Tom’s passion for adventure was forged early, with regular family holidays around Europe, principally in France and Spain. A degree in French and Spanish was a natural next step that afforded him yet more travel opportunities; however, it was not until after graduation with his first ‘long-haul’ adventure backpacking through Southeast Asia that his eyes were opened to nature-based travel. Months of trekking through the lush landscapes of Thailand and Malaysia with local guides sparked an interest in wildlife tourism, which brought him to Naturetrek shortly after returning to the UK. Since joining Naturetrek, Tom has walked through the picture-postcard landscapes of the Swiss Alps, climbed the spectacular Mount Teide in Tenerife, and has accrued an ever-expanding bucket list of travel destinations. Based close to Naturetrek headquarters, in his free time Tom enjoys walks and bike rides on the South Downs and in the New Forest (almost always followed by much-deserved refreshment in a nearby pub).
