Rhiannon O'Neil – Operations Consultant

Rhiannon joined Naturetrek’s busy Operations team in March 2019 and helps look after a large portfolio of tours to Europe and Latin America. As an Operations Consultant, she liaises with tour leaders and hotels, and helps answer any questions you may have at any stage between booking and joining the holiday, such as potential tour extensions and regional flight options. Preparing the finishing touches to your holiday, by compiling your final joining instructions for example, is another key aspect of her role.

Life Before Naturetrek

Rhiannon has been interested in wildlife from a young age and has spent her holidays travelling all over the British Isles – from the Outer Hebrides to Land’s End – watching an abundance of birdlife, seals and dolphins and exploring vastly different habitats along the way. One of her favourite, more exotic, destinations was The Bahamas, where she became particularly fond of sharks, Green Turtles, flamingoes and hummingbirds! After gaining a degree in Law at the University of Southampton, she took a gap year to return to her first passion, wildlife and conservation, and volunteered in Grenada, in the Caribbean. Here, she trained as a diver and assisted with conservation efforts to protect the fragile coral reefs, including lionfish containment. She also helped protect nesting Leatherback Turtles by taking part in night patrols and collecting vital data on these magnificent creatures, as well as counting eggs, moving nests and deterring poachers.
