TL Terry Reis

Terry Reis is a fauna ecologist based in northern Australia. His field work as a professional ecologist and bird guide has taken him to many countries, including Papua New Guinea, Brunei and Sabah, India, Morocco and China to name just a few! He has also worked as a liaison officer with Australian indigenous communities. Terry first visited Borneo in 1997 when he carried out bird surveys at Batu Apoi Forest Reserve in Brunei Darussalam. Between 2002 and 2006 Terry returned to Batu Apoi, and then Danum Valley Field Centre in Sabah, to teach field skills and ecological theory in his role as vertebrate ecologist with Griffith University, Queensland. Terry's natural history knowledge is wide-ranging and, as a guide, he takes pleasure in locating and identifying mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates. He also has a great interest in ecosystems and is happy to elaborate on this topic for those who wish to gain a deeper understanding of the habitats they are visiting. One of the great joys of guiding for Terry is to tailor his style to the expectations of his clients - whether they are seeking a handful of target species, or going in search of a much broader experience of the wildlife and environments they are seeing.
