Graham Poynter

TL Graham Poynter

Graham's lifelong interest in the natural world can be traced back to childhood when his parents introduced him to the fauna and flora of Hampshire and Berkshire. In later life he became fascinated by wild orchids following a weekend guided tour of prime sites in Kent. This led to several European holidays where many new species were discovered and enjoyed. Since taking early retirement from cartography with the MOD Graham has broadened his botanical interest to that of alpine plants and has led a number of groups in search of them in recent years. Closer to home, summer days often find him monitoring butterflies on behalf of Butterfly Conservation near his home in north Dorset.
