A 5-day extension incorporating a visit to Cusco, the ancient Inca capital, the Sacred Valley and and Machu Picchu, the famed Lost City of the Incas, rediscovered by Hiram Bingham in 1911.

Summary

After the humidity of the rainforest, we fly to Cusco at over 10,000 feet in the Andes. A gentle city tour precedes a day out in the Sacred Valley, during which we visit Huacarpay Lake, Pisac and Saqsayhuaman. We then take the train to Aguas Calientes, the gateway to Machu Picchu, and stay overnight at the fabulous Pueblo Hotel. An afternoon tour of the citadel will be a memorable highlight!
