Tommy Saunders - Operations Assistant

Tommy joined the Naturetrek team in February 2022 as an Operations Assistant. The team cover many tours; everywhere from Japan to the British Channel Islands!

Life Before Naturetrek

Tommy has been passionate about wildlife, especially birds, from a very young age and remarkably he studied for, and was granted, a bird-ringing license at the age of 14 and has ringed over 200 species to date. Tommy frequently visits the New Forest and South Downs in search of birds, butterflies and plants. His passion for wildlife and habitat management led him to study Wildlife Conservation at Sparsholt College where he gained the practical skills and knowledge of how different ecosystems interact and how to effectively manage the habitats accordingly. One of Tommy’s many highlights was having the opportunity to become the migration assistant at Alderney Bird Observatory for a month in 2019.
