Naturetrek Jaguar Tours

The Jaguar is South Americas most iconic cat. Secretive and stunningly beautiful, seeing a Jaguar surely ranks among the worlds top 10 wildlife experiences. Naturetrek offers a dedicated Jaguar watching tour to Brazil - Just Jaguars! with a 100% success record to date, as well as a longer holiday to Brazil on which Jaguars may be seen.  Naturetrek groups have also seen Jaguars in Tambopata, Peru (Macaws and Machu Picchu) and in the Iwokrama rainforest in Guyana (Guyana - A Timeless Paradise), although sightings in both localities are less frequent than in the Pantanal.

Our Jaguar specialist recommends...

If you want a holiday dedicated to looking for wild Jaguars, you can’t do any better than Naturetrek’s ‘Brazil – Just Jaguars!’ tour. We’ve had some excellent sightings – Jaguars sitting beside a river, on a track and even swimming. For those who want to stay longer and explore a greater variety of habitats I’d recommend our 17-day ‘‘Brazilian Pantanal & IguazuFalls’ tour, though you’ll see a host of fantastic wildlife on both trips!

I thought the Brazilian guide, Paulo, was excellent. He worked extremely hard to ensure all 12 of us in the group were kept informed, constantly identifying and explaining the behaviour of the fabulous wildlife seen. The wildlife was great, Iguazu was sensational, and the lodges were as good as they can be for this type of holiday. I particularly liked the Flotel on the river. The bananas in coconut sauce at the restaurant at Iguazu was almost worth all the flying on its own!
Birds and Cats! Great. Nick and Fiorella were excellent. We went looking for Jaguars and we certainly found them! The trip was well paced and organised. Everyone involved seemed to care about what they were doing. Nick was an exceptional leader and most entertaining but managed to educate us as well. He may have upstaged Fiorella somewhat but she was more than capable of holding her own and was a more quiet and reserved character. Overall, the combinations worked very well.
Cliff Waller ...did an outstanding job. A great leader and organiser and good relationship-maker in a very diverse group of people...Ricardo Clark...excellent in Pantanal...altogether an unforgettable and thoroughly enjoyable holiday.
