Family WIldlife Holidays
Our programme of family wildlife tours is aimed at those of you wishing to travel with a child (or children). Enjoying the world’s top wildlife spectacles with your children is a perfect way to spend a half term or holiday and we offer tours focusing on a range of wildlife from Tigers to Brown Bears, often with a little culture thrown in.
Our family wildlife tour specialist recommends …
We offer a good choice of short-haul holidays for families such as Bear watching and whale and dolphin trips. However, if you fancy something further afield, I’d recommend our ‘Nepal – Kathmandu & the Wildlife of Koshi Tappu & Chitwan National Park’ tour. The combination of culture, wildlife and adventure is a perfect one – the rafting, rhinos and elephant-back safaris are amongst the highlights! - David Mills
Naturetrek family wildlife tours
It can be hard for families to find a good holiday deal during school holidays. For this reason Naturetrek has put together a special selection of wildlife tours for people travelling with children at these times. Many of these offer significant discounts for children. These holidays offer the added opportunity of being able to travel with other like-minded families with similar wildlife interests.
Here’s a selection of our family wildlife tours:
- South Africa – a big game safari in Kruger National Park
- Visit the Taj Mahal & look for Tigers in northern India
- Kerala offers a heady mix of spices & elephants in southern India
We also operate family-oriented short breaks. Here are a few:
- Watch Brown Bears in Sweden from a purpose-built cabin
- Evening cruises & day trips to look for dolphins & seabirds off the Dorset coast
- Enjoy Madeira’s special whales & dolphins
- The Isle of Man combines excellent marine life with a friendly family atmosphere
Can I take children on other Naturetrek tours?
Yes. As well as offering special family holidays, including those described above, any Naturetrek holiday can be operated for your family – or a group of families – on request.
WHAT YOU'VE BEEN SAYING ABOUT OUR Family HOLIDAYS
I went to photograph Brown Bears - job done! Managed to get some excellent pictures. It was a great couple of days at the centre.
I enjoyed every aspect of the holiday. Watching bears in their natural habitat was a fascinating experience. The interaction between the bears was interesting, especially the pecking order. One six month old cub was obviously going to be a boss one day as even older bears moved out of its way! One female with three cubs chased a male away and her cubs promptly went up trees! The Red Squirrels at the centre were great to watch too. We saw 38 different bird species, the rarest being the Siberian Tit. Biggest thrill was the White-tailed Fish Eagle attempting to steal fish near to the bears. It did succeed eventually! Three mammals seen each day were - Brown Bear, Red Squirrel and Reindeer. The efficient way the centre ran the holiday made for a wonderful time for us.
Generally, an excellent trip.
