Our wildlife photography holidays are aimed at amateur photographers keen to improve their skills.

Wildlife Photgraphy Holidays

For most of us it is an almost automatic response to reach for the camera when presented with the opportunity to record such unforgettable moments as close-up views of a Tiger or breaching whale in the wild. Naturetrek’s photography tours will suit keen wildlife photographers wanting a holiday on which wildlife photography is the primary rather than an incidental purpose.

Our photography specialist recommends..

“Most people come to India hoping to take the best shots they can of Tigers, but the birds and other wildlife in Bandhavgarh National Park offer some wonderful photographic opportunities too. Our Finland Bears trip is excellent for providing a chance to get very close shots of Bears in all different light conditions.” - Paul Stanbury

Naturetrek wildlife photography tours

The majority of participants on Naturetrek holidays take cameras with them. On many tours there may be several very keen photographers who would list photography as their primary purpose in travelling. In recognition of this, Naturetrek now offers two dedicated wildlife photography holidays.

Most people take a camera on holiday and taking photographs is an integral part of most holidays, whether it involves simple snaps of scenery and people, or more serious compositions using the latest state-of-the-art equipment.

Naturetrek’s wildlife photography tours offer:

  • Expert help from professional wildlife photographers on composition, equipment & more
  • Focus on key species such as Tigers, bears, elephants, penguins
  • Extended time in hotspots to allow a focus on target species
  • Travel to picturesque regions
  • Like-minded travelling companions

Our dedicated wildlife photography tours:

We offer two specialist wildlife photography holidays:

  • India’s Wildlife – a photography tour
  • Brown Bears in Finland

Will I get help with photography on non-specialist tours?

In addition to the two dedicated photography tours, many of our tour leaders are highly proficient photographers and so can offer advice on other, non-specialist holidays. Details of individual tour leaders and whether they can offer advice can be found by asking the tour manager before booking a particular tour, or by reading the tour leader’s biography on this website.

WHAT YOU'VE BEEN SAYING ABOUT OUR Photography HOLIDAYS

The trips were well organised, not rushed, and the instructor, Sergio Padura, very well qualified and patient. The fact that we were in one location (hotel) for the trip duration was much better than moving to different locations.
The very welcoming and homely surroundings provided by Peter and Melanie Rich were more than could have been expected of such a trip and their informative responses to queries together with the provision of excellent accomodation and meals (the lunch time picnics were especially good) were a particularly enjoyable aspect of the trip ..... Sergio's lectures and choices of photographic locations were much appreciated and we were rewarded with good sightings of wildlife (in stunning locations).
This is the first photography holiday I have been on. I enjoyed the small group, individual tuition and look forward to taking part in another one next year. The accommodation was excellent, the staff fitted around our early mornings and late nights and were always interested in what we had seen and where we were going.
