Wildlife Art

Our wildlife painting holidays are aimed at amateur artists keen to improve their skills.

Wildlife Art Holidays

The natural world offers a rich tapestry of colour, drama and beauty for the artist – whether watching birds in flight, huge seabird colonies on scenic cliffs, or the spectacle of thousands of wintering geese against a peat moor against a setting sun. It is a basic human response to want to capture such moments and sights, and we are delighted to offer a programme of wildlife art tours to help you do just that! These tours will suit all artists, from complete beginners to accomplished amateurs, or even professionals who wish to experiment with a different style.

Our Specialist Recommends ...

“Led by award-winning artist Darren Woodhead, our wildlife art holidays focus on watercolour painting ‘en plein air’, with plenty of help and tuition from one of the UK’s leading wildlife artists. We offer a 4-day holiday capturing the seabird colonies at St Abbs and a 5-day autumn break to Islay to paint flocks of wintering geese, while further afield you can join Darren in Nepal or The Gambia in search of more exotic subjects!” Catherine Strong

Darren is an excellent and inspiring painter and teacher, always patient and prepared to be flexible when weather or other circumstances changed. The pace was just right; painting in the morning, followed by a break at a café before continuing in the afternoon. St Abb's Head is a wonderful place to paint, and a good site for non-painters, particularly if they are keen on walking.
