Wildlife holidays in Asia
The variety of landscapes, peoples, cultures and wildlife to be found in Asia is quite remarkable. We have an intimate knowledge of this incredibly diverse continent and an amazing network of local contacts. Our holidays focus on iconic species like Tigers as well as more subtle delights such as Himalayan flora.
Our Asia specialist recommends..
"I’d recommend our ‘Splendours of Nepal’ holiday for an excellent introduction to the Himalaya. For Tigers, ‘Tiger Direct!’ maximises wildlife sightings and minimises travelling time. Our ‘Brahmaputra Cruise’ or ‘Snow Leopard Quest’ both offer a very different Indian experience, plus we have a good choice of bargain and family tours." - David Mills
What can I see?
Seeing Asian wildlife presents more of a challenge, in terms of patience and field skills, than traditional African style safaris. Whether you want to look for rainforest birds on foot or undertake a Himalayan trek, here’s a taste of Asia’s special wildlife experiences:
- Tigers – 100% sightings record on ‘Just Tigers!’ & ‘Tiger Direct!’ tours
- The Himalaya – Nepal, China & Bhutan
- Tropical rainforests of Borneo, Thailand & Malaysia
- Flowers, plus oak & rhododendron forests of the temperate Himalayan foothills
- Deserts, steppes & Tulip meadows of Kazakhstan
Asia’s ‘big game’
Tigers, Leopards, Snow Leopards, Asiatic Lions, Asian Elephants, Gaur (Asian Bison), Indian One-horned Rhinoceros, and Brown, Black and Sloth Bears are all seen on our holidays.
I really want to see Tigers …
With a 100% sightings record on our dedicated Tiger tours, we’re the right people to talk to about Tigers.
How about birds?
Our Asia tours go in search of South East Asia’s elusive rainforest birds, fabled Siberian species and remote high-altitude specialities of the Tien Shan and Himalayan mountains and much more.
Whats the accomodation like?
We stay in fine hotels, luxury jungle lodges and tented camps, but for some remote areas we make use of more basic government guesthouses and campsites.
WHAT YOU'VE BEEN SAYING ABOUT OUR Asia HOLIDAYS
The wildlife watching was extraordinary and exceeded my expectations.
Haswan clearly had outstanding knowledge and experience of the Bornean avifauna and was dedicated to finding and showing as many species as possible to his clients.
Terry did an excellent job of managing the very varied interests and physical abilities of this group, with patience and good humour. As a mammalogist, I very much appreciated his excellent spot-lighting skills which helped to maximise the number of mammals we saw on this trip. As a lone traveller, I am grateful for his company between scheduled activities and as a fellow biologist enjoyed sharing our wildlife experiences of other countries.
Naturetrek did a fantastic job - everything went like clockwork and all of your staff were amazing in looking after our every need.
Sightings were incredible, Tigers (11 I think) plus leopard, wild dogs and and Sloth Bear to name only the stars! Birding was brilliant.
The whole trip was an amazing adventure. I would like to make a special mention for our guide, Durgesh Singh. His knowledge of wildlife is incredible and imparted with passion, enthusiasm and humour. He really went the extra mile to make our trip such a great success. Everyone from Naturetrek that I have been in contact with has been very professional and helpful. Please make all concerned aware of our feelings - I am sure that we will travel with you again if I can persuade my wife that we need another adventure!
This holiday far exceeded my expectations and this was primarily due to the enthusiasm and incredible expert knowledge of the two trip leaders Chris and Osman. This holiday has personally changed our outlook on the future, something for which we are immensely grateful.
