Wildlife of Italy's Northern Alps - A Vegetarian/Vegan tour

Summary

On this 8-day holiday we will enjoy excursions from our first-class vegan hotel to lonely Alpine pastures, sun-lit meadows and other wonderful habitats in search of such sought-after plants as Lesser Butterfly Orchid, One-flowered Wintergreen and Edelweiss, plus butterflies including Damon Blue, Phoebus Apollo and Titania's Fritillary. Backed by the region’s spectacular landscapes, we will also be hoping to see Alpine Marmot and Alpine Ibex, soaring Lammergeier and a variety of other birds such as Nutcracker and Black Woodpecker. Pools of tumbling streams provide habitat for Yellow-bellied Toad and the surroundings of crystal-clear lakes are perfect for Fire Salamander. Adder are possible too.

Located in the southern Tyrol, within easy walking distance of the Texel Group Nature Park, our beautiful hotel serves exclusively vegan food and boasts a natural bathing pool, a Finnish sauna, an outdoor forest sauna and an indoor pool with salt electrolysis system. On this holiday, we shall experience evening meals on a superb 5-course bio-vegan gourmet dinner basis. For those looking to join this holiday on a land-only basis, we would be very pleased to arrange pickups from nearby Merano or Naturno. Busses arrive into Merano from Innsbruck (2.5 hours), Munich (4.5 hours) and other locations or trains to Naturno from Innsbruck (3.5 hours), Munich (5.5 hours), Zurich (7 hours) and other locations.
