We are looking for a well-travelled wildlife expert/enthusiast, preferably with several years of tour operating experience with a similar specialist tour operator (either in product, sales or operations). As well as extensive wildlife and travel knowledge, the successful applicant will require meticulous administrational skills, attention to detail, accuracy, common sense, good literacy and numeracy skills, a confident telephone manner, motivation within a busy office, and a natural ability for flexibility and negotiation. Wide-ranging computer skills are also essential. In addition, the successful applicant will be enthusiastic, experienced, articulate, capable, highly motivated and blessed with the energy, focus and entrepreneurial intuition required to develop and grow a division with huge potential. The role will include dealing with hotels, wildlife lodges, airlines, local ground operators, wildlife tour guides and other suppliers, as well as offering advice to Naturetrek clients, using both phone and email. He/she will be based at our Cheriton Mill office, near Alresford, Hampshire, but will additionally and regularly be required to travel overseas to worldwide wildlife destinations in order to expand, improve and develop our holiday product each year through recces and research. The role will not only include the development of such new destinations for both our brochure and website, but also of our tailormade systems, strategies and sales/tour literature. Most importantly, you will be tasked with ensuring that our all aspects of both the organisation and operation of Naturetrek’s tailormade holidays are second to none!

Salary

A good salary package (ca £20,000 - £25,000, plus rewarding bonus and incentive scheme), commensurate with experience, is negotiable. You will also have the advantage of regular travel, as well as occasional discounted holidays offered by our suppliers and tourist boards. The opportunity for developing your division, role and salary is considerable.
