Our bargain holidays are a selection of long-haul, expert-escorted Naturetrek holidays that offer outstanding value for money, being amongst the most competitively priced group birding and mammal tours on the worldwide market. Indeed, they offer prices to many remote and exciting wildlife destinations in Africa, Asia and both North and South America that cannot be matched, even by the independent traveller or backpacker. Yet they offer the same standard of accommodation (within the context of the area to be visited) as is offered on other commercial birding holidays. The accommodation we use in Zambia for example is simply ‘top class’. So why do these bargain tours offer such value for money? It is simply that we use a local English-speaking ornithologist as our guide, saving on the cost of flying out, at considerable expense, one or more British tour leaders. Thus, these tours are best suited to wildlife enthusiasts keen to enjoy their wildlife in the company of a local guide; they will not suit those who require intensive British-style leadership and guidance.
