Latest News - Sweden in Winter

Danny Green (our local guide in Sweden) reports on the first Naturetrek Sweden in Winter tour which took place last weekend:

"I think it went really well, we delivered almost everything we had on the itinerary. 50 cm of snow, –15° c, at least 4 Nutcrackers, Grey-headed, Black, Lesser-spotted & Three-toed Woodpeckers, at least three Golden Eagles, at least six White-tailed Eagles, Goshawk, ten Hawfinches, 14-20 Pine Grosbeaks (three males),  three Siberian Jays and all the small stuff like Bullfinches, Dippers, Crested Tits. Altogether 40 species of bird and three mammals, of which Red Squirrel was the most appreciated."

Our new Sweden in Winter short break has proved so popular that we added an extra three departures to the one outlined in our Autumn 2007 newsletter. Three of the four tours are now fully booked but we do have three spaces remaining on our tour departing on the 21st February 2008. Call now (01962 733051) or email Paul for more information.
