Byron Palacios has led many Naturetrek birding groups around his native Ecuador in recent years, carving out a reputation for himself as one of the country's brightest young birding talents. Now in the UK with his English wife Jenny, Byron has joined Naturetrek in a freelance capacity to aid us with South America operations and product. One of his first tasks saw him jetting off to Colombia to recce the endemic-rich Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, as well as other sites.
