Join us at Tiger Tops, Nepal to celebrate Naturetrek’s 25th Anniversary!

Indian One-horned Rhinceros by Thomas Mills |
Naturetrek began in 1987, carrying just 27 clients to Kashmir, Ladakh, Morocco and Kenya. Remarkably, 25 years on, many of those who travelled with us on those initial tours are still travelling with Naturetrek, and a great many of you since have supported us by joining numerous tours.
It is with the many friends we have made over the years in mind that, for 2011, we will be offering a 25th Anniversary visit to one of our most popular destinations over the years, Nepal. We have block-booked the luxury and famous Tiger Tops Lodge and the nearby Tiger Tops Tented Camp for five nights, to enable us to enjoy a comfortable celebration while at the same time exploring Nepal’s foremost wildlife reserve, Chitwan National Park.
Both the lodge and the camp are situated in the heart of the national park, in one of the very best areas for wildlife, and from this fabulous base a wide range of excursions will be provided as we explore on foot, on elephant-back, by jeep and by canoe. Joining our excursions will not only be Tiger Tops’ excellent naturalists, but also our very own Dr Hem Baral, Tika Ram Giri, Suchit Basnet and Hathan Choudhary. Also present will be a selection of key Naturetrek staff and leaders, among them David and Maryanne Mills, Andy Tucker, Paul Stanbury and botanist David Tattersfield.
We hope that as many of you as possible will join us!
About Chitwan National Park
Nepal’s foremost and best-known national park also protects the country’s best wildlife. A World Heritage Site to boot, it encompasses 932 square kilometres of dry deciduous forest, tropical evergreen forest and riverine grasslands. A larger number of bird species (over 480) has been recorded here than in any other part of Nepal, and we can expect to see a third of these during our 5-night stay. The park holds a similar wealth of mammals, including the endangered Indian One-horned Rhinoceros, Wild Boar, Sambar, Muntjac, Spotted and Hog Deer, and Rhesus and Common Langur Monkeys. Tigers, Leopards, Sloth Bears and Gaur (Asian Bison) may sometimes be seen, as well as Nepal’s two species of crocodile – Mugger and Gharial.
